My buddy, Peter, and I drove the Dalton almost straight thru as part of our Alaska Road Trip. We stopped to sleep for 3 hours after getting 2 blowouts north of Atigun pass. We turned onto the Dalton at 6pm on Thurs, June 5, 2003. We arrived at Prudhoe Bay on Friday, June 6, 2003 at about 10am.

A total of 11 hours driving after you subtract 2 hours swapping tires, and 3 hours sleeping. The road was mostly excellent until we got over Atigun pass. On the north side of the Brooks Range, the road was horrible (except the 30 miles that are now paved), and we could barely maintain 35mph in our pickup truck that easily handled 60-70mph south of the Brooks Range.

I will include a link to
www.prudhoebay.com  on my page, as it helped me alot in planning the trip.
